Launched!

This blog is intended to coincide with much of my 12th Literature Course; in this particular instance, giving parents a chance to post and respond to each other about their childrens' progress in this course, or just to communicate with each other.

For those who are unaware of what a "blog" is I recommend watching this video. For those unfamiliar with using a blog for the purpose of teaching, check out this website.

The skinny is this: a blog is a website where users (IE. people on computers) can post entries about their lives, sports, movies, travel, or schoolwork, as in this case. Other users can post responses to these initial posts. The result is somewhat of an online (textual) conversation that can resolve over about a day's time, as opposed to a several minute (audio) conversation.

This blog is designed to help keep you, the parents of my students, in the loop with whats going on in class, including assignments, attendance, discipline, etc. I recommend making a point to check once a day if possible for updates, and to check out the class website here.

I encourage all of you parents out there to post a response to this entry, noting who you are, who your child is, what your expectations are, and some details introducing yourself to the group.
